Things to do in Newcastle and the Surrounding Area

While staying at the Rosebery B&B in Newcastle, there are many places of natural beauty and historical importance to visit, as well as top eateries and bars that offer fabulous food and a fun night out.

WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF THE HOTEL

In the locality, there are a number of restaurants –  Santana’s Italian restaurant is a 5-minute walk from the hotel, serving hearty Italian meals. Their bargain 3-course happy hour deals are not to be missed. They also do a carryout service if you would prefer. For a light lunch, Dene’s Deli is a great little sandwich bar, which serves delicious handmade sandwiches.

For long term guests, there are a number of takeaways a short distance from our Jesmond Hotel – Indian takeaway, Double Diner is particularly good and food can be ordered from the comfort of your room, using the Just Eat service. Long term guests are welcome to use the oven and microwave to prepare their meals and you may also use the fridge and freezer for storing food items.

If you are just looking for a newspaper of a packet of crisps to keep the kids happy, Rehills Convenience Store is just 1 minute away from the Hotel and has everything you could ever need. Open 10 am – 11 pm every day.

The Rosebery Hotel is located at the edge of the beautiful Jesmond Dene Park, which offers something for the full family – Pets Corner for the kids, picnic areas for the tired parents, nature walks for the avid rambler and an old water mill for the history buff.

If you are looking for fun night out, make sure you stop by As You Like It, a great bar and restaurant, which serves delicious food and has live music at the weekend. In addition, the busy Osbourne Road (5-10 minute walk) has an assortment of bars and restaurants to offer you a lively night out.

NEWCASTLE CITY CENTRE

We adore Cafe 21 on the quayside, a little more pricey than the norm, but with our price accessible rooms, you will have a little bit more spare cash to splash. It offers superb quality food, exceptional service and an extensive wine list. The Pitcher and Piano has a great view of the quayside and Millenium Bridge, the Baltic Quay and the bridges of the River Tyne, it really is a beautiful place to spend a day or night.

FURTHER AFIELD IN THE NORTH EAST

If you’re going further afield from our hotel in Newcastle, for a full day trip out, there are lots of great places to go.
