Cripes, when everyone is busy being relaxing over the Fetsive period, we have been working hard with further works to improve the hotel. Renovating more rooms, knocking room 11 & 12 into one very large room, putting the 25 or so fabulous new mirrors up.

Dermot has been continuing to decorate. All the stylish vintage wrought iron chairs, that we have collected from Antique Fairs up and down the country, have gone off to be shot blasted and powder coated. We have decided on an antique cream or a light olive colour. Seeing the first samples this week.

Yet again it has been a very busy week with carpenters, carpet fitters and decorators... We have been busy sourcing more new furniture, carpets, mirrors, beds and the lush part soft furnishings...

It's been a very busy last 10 days, since we posted on the blog. We have been rushing around finishing off the newly renovated rooms, whilst starting on the other rooms. We have had decorators, builders, carpenters, brick layers, electricians, carpet fitters, carpet cleaners, Furniture polishers and glaziers coming and going.

It's been very busy last few days.... Dermot has been restoring the fabulous Ceiling Rose's and cornicing in one of the bedrooms.. Stripping it back to it's original detail, by taking layers and layers of year's worth of paints off... The intricacy of the detail is breathtaking.. There was a little bit of damage to the ceiling rose, but with his skill he has has re modelled an exact replica of the plaster work and replaced the damage. You would never know where the damage was! Amazing skill..

We have been busily overseeing the renovations works, which is great to see moving on and we have been busy sourcing fantastic pieces of Vintage furniture, to include some superb Parisian Upholstered bedsteads, that are truly sumptuous, a huge dresser for the dining room which will house the gorgeous array of Blue and White China.
