While staying at the Rosebery Hotel, there are a number of recommendations that we would like to make, when you are visiting Newcastle. These are places of beauty, historical importance, restaurants and bars that offer great food and a top night out.
Within 5 minutes from the Rosebery Hotel
In the locality, there are a number of restaurants, Santana's Italian restaurant is a 5 minute walk from the hotel, which is ideal, if you have travelled far. They also do a carry out service - http://www.pizzeriasantana.com/.
Also, for long term guests, there are a number of take away's, two Indians - Double Diner http://www.just-eat.co.uk/restaurants-double-diner/menu and Jesmond Road Tandorri, one chinese, Rehills Convenience Store, stock a vast array of items. Dene's Deli is a great little sandwich bar, which serves delicious hand made sandwiches - http://www.denesdeli.com/. Guests are welcome to use the dining room in the evening and also the microwave.
Jesmond Dene Park, the hotel is located at the edge of this beautiful landscape, which has undergone a £6m investment, from the Lottery Fund - http://www.jesmonddene.org.uk/?page_id=18. It has an assortment of walks, Pets Corner and a vast array of plant specimens. It is also steeped in history, with an old water mill and several historial ruins.
Within 10 minutes from the Rosebery Hotel
We like, As You Like it - http://www.asyoulikeitjesmond.com/. This is a great bar and restaurant, a 10 minute walk from the hotel or 3 stops on the bus. This is a funky bar, which does great food and has live music on at weekends.
Osbornes Bar, Osborne Road - This has recently been refurbished and can very very busy at weekends, but is good for a relaxed evening during the week.
Osborne Road has an assortment of places to eat and bars, that offer a lively night out. The Rosebery Hotel, is fortunate to be located in a quiet residential area, but still only a 10 minute walk from the hotel.
Newcastle City Centre
We adore Cafe 21 on the quayside, it is however, a little more pricey than the norm, but offers superb quality food, exceptional service and an extensive wine list - http://www.cafetwentyone.co.uk/.
Picture and Piano, has a great view of the quayside and Millenium Bridge, the Baltic Quay and the Bridges of the River Tyne. This a good starting point, for a night out - http://www.pitcherandpiano.com/locations/bar.cfm?area=Newcastle.
Newcastle Theatre Royal - Has just undertaken a substantial face lift, this is located in the heart of the city centre - http://www.theatreroyal.co.uk/
