Here are some of our Top Scoring Restaurants
The Cherry Tree
The Cherry Tree Newcastle, Osborne Road, Jesmond, a six to seven-minute walk from the Rosebery. This is a stylish, suave venue and is top for food. The lovely calming surroundings and stunning plantation shutters, coupled with excellent service and regionally sourced produce is why this is our top choice. Food is fresh, tasty and their choice is diverse. Everything is cooked from scratch, even the biscuits, ice cream and bread. Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Tea and dinners are all available. There is also a private dining room, so if you are wanting to celebrate a birthday, Graduation or another family special occasion, the Cherry Tree is the place to be.
Their Monday to Friday Offers for Dinner £19.50 for three delicious courses is superb value.

Cafe 1901 Jesmond Newcastle is an eclectic cafe, 10 minutes walk from the Rosebery Hotel a Jesmond Bed and Breakfast.
We really like this venue, it’s a converted Church and quite ethereal in its atmosphere. The cafe has vast vaulted ceilings and wonderful old church pews, with large oversized statement oak tables. The food is all homemade.
Ranging from a delicious choice of sandwiches to salads, to homemade cakes, muffins, biscuits and a good range of teas and coffees. The staff are charming and there is free Wifi! It’s one of those places where you could just stay all day.
Prices are reasonable, cheaper than many chained, faceless coffee shops and cafes. We support local independent businesses, we hope you can too.

As You Like It
The Rosebery, our Jesmond-based bed and breakfast are ideally located to As You Like It, a fantastical bar, restaurant and wedding venue, as it is only a short walk from the Rosebery. We love As You Like It! It has a stylish, eclectic and visually impressive interior, with amazing, vintage finds including furniture and decorative items. It is a palace of the unusual and although there is no general theme, all the mismatched styles really work together.
You can eat in their upstairs restaurant, overlooking the whole bar, or get cosy in one of their comfy booths. The food is very tasty, modern fusion cuisine, a good choice of starters, mains and desserts. This is just a few examples of the choice they have:
Pork San Choy Bau£7.95
spiced pork mince served with baby gem lettuce cups, peanuts and fresh chilli (n)
Tempura King Prawns£9.95
with Szechuan pickled cucumbers & wasabi mayo (n)
Asian Beef Rice Noodle Salad£7.95
with a palm sugar dressing (n)
Salmon Waldorf Salad£6.95
with watercress & a soft egg dressing
Pan Fried Fillet of Seabass £16.95 with a black truffle mash, tiger prawn & chorizo stir fry & red pepper essence
Roast Rump of Lamb£15.95
with a fresh beetroot puree, fondant potato, wild mushrooms & a rosemary jus
Handmade Pumpkin Tortellini£11.95
with roasted root vegetables and toasted pine nuts
Thai Red Chicken Curry£14.95
with sticky rice & fresh coriander
We rate this highly, as it’s a venue where you can go for an early dinner and stay there all night. On Saturday nights there is live music and on a Sunday, they do a family day, where there are a kid’s face painter and magician.
They have a few functions rooms, which are great for Weddings or Special occasions. We have been to a few private parties at As You Like It Jesmond and we would thoroughly recommend it.
