Newcastle’s city centre is a bustling hive of great shops, eateries and culture. You can grab some great bargains on Northumberland Street or some designer finds on Grainger Street. Catch a film at the quirky Tyneside Cinema or go and see a band at the O2 Academy. There’s so much to see and do in the centre of Newcastle.

It’s super easy to get to Newcastle City Centre from The Rosebery Hotel. It only takes 20-25 minutes to walk into Newcastle through Sandyford and just 5 minutes in a car or taxi.
Buses run every 5-10 minutes from the bus stop just outside of the hotel directly to Newcastle’s centre. It only takes 5-10 minutes on the bus and you will be dropped directly in the heart of Newcastle, either at Haymarket station or at Grainger Street Monument. What Is It?
The centre of Newcastle is full to the brim with things to do. You can spend a whole day shopping on Northumberland Street, Grainger Street and in Eldon Square or you can spend the day culturally at Great North Museum: Hancock, then take in some art at The Laing Gallery.
There are loads and loads of places to eat and drink, whether you’re needing a coffee break in between shops, or wanting a couple of cocktails after a nice meal. Our favourite places to grab coffee are Flat Caps Coffee and Pink Lane Coffee. Head to The Herb Garden for a scrummy pizza or pop to Fat Hippo for a juicy burger, if you want something a little more fancy, grab some food at The Broad Chare or Brown’s Newcastle.
There’s so much nearby and within Newcastle City Centre; something to suit absolutely everyone. If you like to sight see, definitely pop down to the Quayside and walk along the river Tyne and snap a photo of the river’s bridges. You could cross the waters and have a wander around Baltic Mill and head to the viewing platform on the 5th floor.
If you have a proper look around, you’ll notice Newcastle’s stunning architecture. The Theatre Royal, Central Station, St Nicholas’ Cathedral, Newcastle Castle and St Andrew’s Church are great to see including many more sites.
Gateshead is only minutes away from Newcastle, so if you fancied popping across to take a look around, then it’s as easy as crossing the Tyne Bridge!
