Renovated Rooms in our Bed and Breakfast Jesmond

By November 4, 2011 No Comments

It’s been a very busy last 10 days in our boutique bed and breakfast in Jesmond since we posted on the blog. We have been rushing around finishing off the newly renovated rooms, whilst starting in the other rooms. We have had decorators, builders, carpenters, brick layers, electricians, carpet fitters, carpet cleaners, furniture polishers and glazers coming and going. We are very pleased with the results of the new rooms and we hope that you are too. We have kept the bathrooms and rooms simple, yet elegant by using traditional sanitary ware that is in keeping with the Edwardian building. We have used an assortment of cream hues to give a calming environment, where guests can relax and feel comfortable.

Restoration Work

New Bedrooms

We have also incorporated king size beds, where we can, to give that bit of extra space to wriggle. In addition, we have put brand new digital televisions in the rooms, which come with DVD players. So you can bring your own choice of film if you can find nothing of interest on the 50 available channels. We have restored this fabulous vintage French bed, which came from a chateau in the Dordogne. There are another few dozen to restore and put in the hotel.

Finished Room

We have also replaced some of the existing door furniture with fabulous restored rose brass handles. Some of the fire doors have also been paneled, by Rob our great carpenter to give a cohesive look throughout the building. Shaun our lovely electrician has also been back, to put more of the fabulous vintage chandeliers up. These have been somewhat of a job to do, as we bought them in bits. A big thank you to one of our staff member Janice, who took them home with home with her, put them back together and cleaned them up.

Restoring a Chandelier

Thomas Heaton of Product Capture has been in to take pictures of the new rooms and created our video too.
